Biosketch

Dr Shawn Lee graduated with MBBS from Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, NUS in 2011 where he was awarded the Wong Poi Kwong Medal for Clinical Medicine. He went on to obtain his Master of Medicine (Paeds) and MRCPCH (UK) in 2015 and begun subspecialty training in paediatric haematology-oncology. In 2017, he was awarded the Exxon-Mobil Fellowship for Clinicians. During his senior residency in 2017, he served a leadership role of Assistant Chief Registrar. He completed his senior residency and obtained specialist accreditation in Paediatric Medicine in 2019. 

Dr Lee has been awarded the NMRC Research Training Fellowship in 2019, where he will embark on a 2-year fellowship in pharmacogenomics and immunogenomics under Dr Yang Jun in St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, USA. His specialty clinical interests are in the areas of childhood leukaemia and lymphoma as well as the toxicities associated with treatment such as neutropenic fever. His research interests include immunotherapy and immunogenomics to aid in prognostication, risk stratification and optimal utilisation of immunotherapeutic agents. He is also invested in individualised therapy in oncology, specifically pharmacogenomics to evaluate drug resistance mechanisms in leukaemia and allow for personalised tailoring of treatment therapy.
