Dr Cheung completed his rheumatology training in Australia before pursuing an extended period of clinical research training in Cochin Hospital, Paris.
He is the current Division Head and leads therheumatology ultrasonography service. He was previously a core faculty member of the rheumatology senior residency program for over 10 years.
His main clinical and research focus is on the clinical outcome measures of inflammatory arthritis, particularly spondyloarthritis, with experience in large multicentre clinical drug trials. He was also one of the founding members of the connective tissue disease-interstitial lung disease clinic at NUH.
Dr Cheung has been a steering committee member of the Singapore Chapter of Rheumatology ultrasound credentialing group since its inauguration and has been involved in regular national and international workshops in ultrasonography over the years.
