Dr Melissa Tay graduated from Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore in 2010. She obtained post-graduate qualifications from the Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons and Physicians (Glasgow) in 2017 and completed her urology specialist training in 2018.
Dr Tay has a special interest in chronic transitional and adolescent urology which oversees the care and management of patients with congenital urological issues as they progress to adulthood. She is the first urologist locally and one of the few urologists regionally to be trained in this subspecialty, having completed her fellowship training at the University College Hospital London. Dr Tay also manages general urology conditions with other special interest in female, reconstructive and functional urology, and recurrent urinary tract infections. In line with her interests, she has pioneered the intravesical treatment for recurrent urinary tract infections in the department.
Dr Tay is also a faculty of the clinical faculty scheme at the Department of Surgery, Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. She participates in undergraduate and postgraduate education and is involved in various teaching curriculums for undergraduate medical students, post-graduate training and other healthcare professionals.
