Dr Varughese graduated from the National University of Singapore in 1993. After completing her housemanship and working as a medical officer under the Ministry of Health for a few years, she migrated to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia where she worked and trained in the Paediatric Department at University Hospital, KL. During this period, she also obtained membership at the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health, UK.
Subsequently Dr Varughese returned to Singapore and obtained specialist accreditation in Paediatrics and is currently practising in the General Ambulatory Paediatrics and Adolescent Medicine Unit at NUH. Her clinical practice involves all aspects of General Paediatric care, both inpatient and outpatient. She is particularly passionate about working with teenagers and their families, empowering them to develop into happy and healthy young adults. She has been active in giving talks at public forums and giving practical parenting advice to young parents through various media. Dr Varughese also enjoys mentoring medical students and young doctors as they journey through their chosen vocation.
