Dr Irene Tirtajana commenced work at JurongHealth Campus in 2012 and currently practises as a Senior Consultant in the Department of Psychiatry of Ng Teng Fong General Hospital. In her clinical role, Dr Tirtajana provides care to medically ill patients with psychiatric conditions as well as general psychiatry patients. Her special interests lie in mindfulness-based interventions and the psychological correlates of chronic diseases.
Dr Tirtajana obtained both her basic medical degree and Master of Medicine in Psychiatry from the National University of Singapore. She obtained her specialist accreditation in 2014. She has worked at various hospitals in Singapore and managed patients from a broad range of psychiatric sub-specialties during her training.
Beyond her clinical role, Dr Tirtajana is a member of NTFGH’s Clinical Ethics Committee. She also serves on the Transplant Ethics Committee of the National Organ Transplant Unit.
Dr Tirtajana is a Clinical Lecturer at Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore. Apart from teaching medical students, she has given talks and presentations on a range of mental health topics to fellow doctors, Allied Health Professionals and members of the public.
