A/Prof Daniel Goh graduated with MBBS (1988) and Masters in Medicine (Paediatrics) (1993) from the National University of Singapore and completed a Fellowship in Paediatric Pulmonology and Sleep at the Johns Hopkins Children's Centre, USA in 1997.
He is a Fellow of the College of Paediatrics and Child Health (Academy of Medicine, Singapore), Fellow of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (UK) and Fellow of the College of Chest Physicians (USA).
A/Prof Goh served as Head of Paediatrics (2007 to 2017) and Paediatric Cluster Chair (2012 to 2019) at the National University Hospital. He was President of the Singapore Paediatric Society (2004 to 2011), President of the ASEAN Paediatric Federation (2011 to 2014), Executive Board Member of the Ronald Macdonald House Charity (Singapore) (2010 to 2016), Council Member of the College of Paediatrics and Child Health, Singapore (2017 to 2021), and Standing Committee Member of the Asia Pacific Paediatric Association (2018 to 2021). He is a tenured faculty member of the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore.
He has served in multiple regional and international workgroups in the areas of Paediatric Respiratory Medicine, Sleep and Vaccinology. He is chairperson of the Asia-Pacific Paediatric Sleep Alliance (APPSA), Vice-Chair of the Asian Strategic Alliance for the Prevention of Pneumococcal Diseases (ASAP) and Secretary of the Asian Dengue Vaccine Advocacy (ADVA) group.
He also serves in multiple committees and advisory boards at institutional, national and regional levels, and is reviewer for many regional and international peer-reviewed journals. He has published over 150 journal articles (54 published in the past 5 years), 156 Conference papers and 6 book chapters.
His clinical interests include childhood respiratory conditions including asthma and allergies, sleep-related breathing disorders, cross-cultural sleep patterns, fiberoptic bronchoscopy as well as vaccinology. He has a keen teacher of the next generation of doctors and paediatricians, and serves as member of the Residency Advisory Committee in Paediatric Medicine, Joint Committee on Specialist Training, Ministry of Health, Singapore (2018 to 2021) and is a Member of the Specialist Advisory Board (Respiratory Medicine) for the Singapore Armed Forces (2012 to present).
A/Prof Goh has received many awards; including the NUHS-Mochtar Riady Pinnacle Award for Excellence (2015), National Day Award 2018(Public Administration Medal, Bronze), the Outstanding Asian Paediatrician Award, presented by the Asia Pacific Paediatric Association (2018). He also received the NUHS Teaching Excellence Award, National University Health System in 2020.
