Biosketch

Dr Alvin Ong is the Head and Consultant at the Department of Post-Acute and Continuing Care, Jurong Community Hospital.

Dr Ong graduated from the National University of Singapore with a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery in 2007. He completed his Master of Medicine (Family Medicine) in 2012 and later became a fellow of the College of Family Physicians Singapore and the Academy of Medicine Singapore.

Dr Ong is actively involved in undergraduate and postgraduate medical education. He is the Associate Program Director of the NUHS Family Medicine Residency and NUHS Family Medicine Consultant Development Program and an examiner for the Graduate Diploma in Family Medicine.

Dr Ong has special interests in system transformation in chronic diseases management, continuity and coordination of individualised care in healthcare transitions and Healthcare Quality Improvement.
