Upper & Lower Limb Traumas

2023/10/24
What are Finger Tip Injuries?

Finger Tip Injuries are the one of the most common upper limb trauma and the most common emergency cases seen in Hand Surgery. Improper or inadequate treatment may result in a painful, deformed stump that may compromise the function of the whole hand.

General factors affecting choice of treatment include the physiological age and general physical and mental health of the patient. Complicated reconstructive procedures should be reserved for healthy individuals who can tolerate a long anesthetic time. Specific factors include hand dominance and the demands of the patient in their work or hobbies. Lastly, surgical facilities and available expertise will determine the degree of the reconstruction that can be performed.
