NUHS as an Academic Health System is Singapore's healthcare academic powerhouse consisting of three schools namely, the NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine (NUS Medicine) which includes the Alice Lee Centre for Nursing Studies (ALCNS), NUS Faculty of Dentistry (FOD) and NUS Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health (SSHSPH). The NUS Schools train the largest number of medical students and are the only nursing and public health tertiary education institutions in Singapore.
As a healthcare cluster serving the western region of Singapore, we are uniquely positioned to improve the health of our community through nurturing the next generation of healthcare professionals and providing incredible care to our patients and community. Our mission is to improve the health of our community through continuous education efforts, as well as harnessing our strengths in clinical care, education and research to deliver quality and care.
Students from the three schools, as well as other Institutes of Higher Learning come to the hospitals, polyclinics and GP clinics under NUHS as part of their Pre-Employment Clinical Training (PECT). In addition, we offer Post-Graduate Residency Training and Continuing Education & Training (CET) as a learning continuum.
We work closely with entities within and beyond NUHS to support the organisation's tripartite mission of excellence in clinical care, translational clinical research and education.
Our academic institutions provide the spectrum of healthcare education. Learn more about the offerings in NUHS according to your professional healthcare journey. Click on the respective links to find out more.
