Mr. Tan Chong Meng currently holds the positions of Chairman of JTC Corporation and Deputy Chairman of the Board of the National University Health System (NUHS). He is a Board Director of Temasek Holdings and a member of the NUS Board of Trustees since 1 April 2024.
From October 1, 2011, to February 29, 2024, Mr. Tan was the Group Chief Executive Officer of PSA International (PSA), a leading global port group and trusted partner to cargo stakeholders worldwide. Headquartered in Singapore and owned by Temasek Holdings, PSA's global portfolio comprises 66 deepsea, rail, and inland terminals, as well as affiliated businesses in supply chain management in more than 40 countries.
Between 2022 and 2024, Mr Tan served as the Governor Chair for The World Economic Forum's Supply Chain & Transport Industry Community.
In April 2020, Mr. Tan was appointed Co-Chair of the Emerging Stronger Task Force, a committee set up by the Singapore government to guide the nation's economic recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic. Additionally, he led the Community Care Facilities Taskforce, driving the set-up of emergency health infrastructure during the first COVID-19 surge and facilitating the safe arrival of migrant workers for critical sectors. In recognition of his exemplary leadership in coordinating Singapore's pandemic response, safeguarding lives and livelihoods, and steering the nation towards recovery, he was one of a select few conferred the national "Meritorious Service Medal (COVID-19)" in December 2022. Furthermore, in May 2023, Mr. Tan received two awards: the Honour of the "Officer of the Order of the Star of Italy," one of the country's highest civil honours, and Singapore's National Trades Union Congress (NTUC) Medal of Commendation (Gold) award for his continuous and significant contributions towards promoting and supporting Labour Movement initiatives.
Before his role at PSA, Mr. Tan was the Executive Vice President, Global Commercial, at Shell Downstream, Royal Dutch Shell Group. With over 20 years of experience at Shell, he led six global businesses engaged in the marketing and sale of fuels, lubricants, and specialty products to commercial customers across various sectors. His extensive global leadership experience spanned the USA, Europe, China, and Singapore, encompassing various senior leadership positions in management, sales, marketing, trading, refinery operations, customer service, and merger & acquisitions. Prior to Shell, Mr. Tan had also worked in various positions with Singapore's Ministry of National Development for five years.
