Mr Ramaswami is a finance, technology and operations professional with over 35 years of international experience, including 12 at the Singapore Exchange (SGX), 21 at Citibank and three at Nestle. In February 2023, he was appointed as the Group Chief Executive Officer of GXS Bank – the Digital Bank formed through a partnership between Singtel and Grab.
Prior to his role with GXS Bank, Mr Ramaswami was President of the Singapore Exchange with broad responsibilities helming Technology, Operations, Product Management & Marketing, and International Coverage. Before moving to SGX, Mr Ramaswami was with Citigroup where he held progressively senior positions across Operations, Technology and Transaction Banking in various locations including Mumbai, Singapore, Hong Kong, London and New York with the last role as Chief Information Officer with the International Consumer Business of Citigroup’s Global Consumer Bank based out of New York.
Mr Ramaswami holds a Master’s Degree in Mathematics (Honours) from the Birla Institute of Technology & Science, Pilani and a Postgraduate Diploma in Management Studies (Masters in Business Administration) from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad.
Mr Ramaswami was awarded the Public Service Medal (Pingat Bakti Masyarakat), by the President of Singapore, for his services to the nation as part of the National Day Honours in 2017.
Mr Ramaswami also serves on the board of Jurong Town Corporation (JTC), Jurong Port Pte Ltd, and Temus – a Temasek Technology Company. He has previously served on the boards of Singapore’s Govtech, Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority (ACRA), Infocomm Development Authority (IDA) and several of SGX’s subsidiaries including the Energy Market Company.
