Biosketch

A/Prof Ray Manotosh is currently a Senior Consultant in Ophthalmology at National University Hospital. His field of specialisation is in Cornea, External eye diseases, Cataract, Contact Lens and Refractive Surgery. Concurrently, he is the Associate Professor and Director of Undergraduate Medical Education, Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore.

He completed his basic surgical training (MD) at All India Institute of Ophthalmic Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, India in 1997. Subsequently, he went through advanced surgical training in the field of Cornea and External Eye diseases at AIIMS, and later attained his Fellowship in Ophthalmology from Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (UK).
A/Prof Ray has published many peer reviewed journals. He has co-authored two medical books. One of the books, “Essentials of Ophthalmology: For Medical School and beyond”, was nominated as one of the best Ophthalmology books in Ophthalmology. He also attained the National Healthcare Group Excellence award for teaching in 2006.
