On 23 July 2024, over 1,300 nurses from across NUHS institutions, along with alumni, pioneers, sponsored nurses, and nursing students, gathered for a starry evening at The Theatre @ Mediacorp, to celebrate Nurses Day. Themed “NUHS Superstar Nurses – Celebrating Excellence in Care,” our celebrations this year include performances by our very own nurses, clinicians, and allied health professionals, who showcased their talents and immense appreciation for our nurses.
The event was graced by Guest-of-Honour, Mr Masagos Zulkifli, Minister for Social & Family Development, Second Minister for Health and Special Guest, Dr Janil Puthucheary, Senior Minister of State, Ministry of Digital Development and Information, Ministry of Health, as well as Mr Hsieh Fu Hua, Chairman and Prof Yeoh Khay Guan, Chief Executive of NUHS.
The event also honoured 128 NUHS Nightingale Award recipients and two Joycelyn Khoo Award recipients for their outstanding contributions to the profession. Additionally, the NUHS Nursing Care Continuum campaign was unveiled at the event, highlighting the vast opportunities across all care settings within the NUHS cluster and showcased the advanced professional roles of our nurses.
Before the evening celebrations, we also kickstarted this year's Nurses’ Day with an inaugural Centre for Nursing Excellence (CoNE) nursing conference, where we launched several new ground-up initiatives from micro-learning modules to new Communities of Practice to prepare our nurses for the future.
