About NUHS Centres of Excellence
The NUHS Centres of Excellence (COEs) @ Alexandra Campus bring together an array of expertise to develop and implement new models of care, incorporating smart technologies as well as innovations in research and training to meet present and future national healthcare needs. Towards these ends, the COEs seek to achieve advancement and breakthroughs in the prevention and management of chronic diseases and promotion of healthy ageing, with a focus on health challenges affecting Singaporeans.
The collaborative environment of the centres also serves as a platform for test-bedding innovations in treatment and work processes to deliver better care and improve overall health outcomes for Singapore’s young and elderly. In the area of education, the COEs are poised to address the challenges of the national healthcare manpower crunch by uplifting the skillsets of healthcare professionals and also training people from the community to supplement the healthcare workforce.
