The Houei Group Japan Grant Call - Practical Research in Elderly

The Houei Group owns various facilities related to elderly welfare. These facilities embody the idea of providing long term care through an integrated care system which utilizes local resources to the greatest extent with the most efficient and effective health, wellness and medical services to meet the individual's needs depending on their condition and the situation allowing the elderly to stay from their time of well‐being to their end‐of‐life stage (terminal) in their home. Each facility extends different services with common objectives, these facilities focus on improving and maintaining the quality and purpose of the elderly individual's life while receiving living assistance. Our aim is to enhance the physical, social, and psychological functional level, while supporting maintaining and improving their remaining ability.

 

Practical research that will directly lead to the improvement of service quality or elderly evaluations at care giving sites. Grantor invites research project proposals based on a theme related to exercise, nutrition, nursing, rehabilitation, and/or community activities. They are also inviting special research projects related to issues which affect children of Japanese and Filipino parents (Japino).

 

Research undertaken on behalf of other institutions, research that has a plan to be undertaken in the future, and research directly for profit are not awarded.

The grant is mainly for consumables/printings, carrying devices, and goods related to travel/accommodation, investigation/measuring for the research. If the grant is used for equipments of research, the group shall possess those items. Purchasing devices/equipments (including PC) seen ordinary at lab in universities and/or general administrative fee for research organization is not allowed.

 

Application Criteria


The research representative is to organize the research theme as the key person.

 

1. Research proposals from Masters/PhD students, Professors, Associate Professors, Assistant Professors and Lecturers alike who are interested and knowledgeable on the subject of elderly care are welcomed.

 

2. He/she should be the graduate students (Master/PhD) responsible for promoting research planning including grant administration and report submission, etc. Please obtain permission from assistant researchers before applying.

 

3. Research proposals must be based on a theme related to exercise, nutrition, nursing, rehabilitation, and/or community activities.

 

4. Special research projects related to the issues which affect children of Japanese and Filipino parents (Japino), the concerns that arise from the various circumstances will also be consider.
