Most GP patients wrong on antibiotic use: Study

A study by students from the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine at the National University of Singapore, with public health experts from the National University Health System found most GP patients were unaware that antibiotics don't work against upper respiratory tract infections (URTIs) caused by viruses. A third of patients also expected to be given antibiotics for common ailments. The practice of keeping or passing on leftover antibiotics was also uncovered.
