Dr Loo Hooi Yin Jenny is a highly-regarded audiologist locally and in the region.

She has played a key role in supporting and developing the Centre for Hearing Intervention and Language Development (CHILD) in the Department of Otolaryngology at the National University Hospital (NUH), and has also brought about various initiatives that improved patient care and treatment.  

Internationally, she has been invited to deliver talks in conferences to share her expertise in Audiology.

Dr Loo is also actively involved in research; she was awarded grants for research on auditory processing disorder, dementia and hearing loss in patients and is currently the principal investigator for a number of projects that aim to develop audiological tools for the local population.  

At the same time, Dr Loo is also passionate about sharing her knowledge and experience and participates actively in teaching. As the Assistant Programme Director of the Master of Science (Audiology) programme in the NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine (NUS Medicine), she played an instrumental role in setting up the first Master of Science (Audiology) course in Singapore in 2013 where she was heavily involved, from the planning of curriculum to the setting up of the infrastructure. She also played an important role in successfully getting a donation of $19.5 million to support this programme.

As an allied health professional, a researcher and an educator, Dr Loo Hooi Yin Jenny epitomises the National University Health System’s values of teamwork, respect, integrity, compassion and excellence in her day-to-day work. She is an exemplary leader and a worthy recipient of the Young Achiever Award
