Dr Sandhya Mujumdar is Deputy Director, Medical Affairs (Clinical Governance), and Senior Specialist (Quality & Accreditation) at the National University Hospital (NUH). She is a trained paediatrician from India and has a Master degree in Healthcare Management from the United Kingdom.

She oversees clinical quality, clinical audit, clinical services, risk management, patient safety, JCI accreditation, outcomes and performance management, clinical pathways and case management in the NUH. She has also helped to develop a quality and safety framework in the NUH. In addition, she has presented posters, given oral presentations and won many awards for quality and safety improvement projects at national and international levels. Not only has she published articles in journals, she is also the co-editor of the in-house NUH Quality and Patient Safety newsletter and has recently published a book on “Clinical Quality and Patient Safety” for residents and medical students.

She is also one of the founding members of the Healthcare Quality Society of Singapore (HQSS) and is actively involved in various activities conducted by the Society.

Widely recognised as a champion of quality and patient safety, and a highly sought-after speaker and consultant in these areas, Dr Sandhya Mujumdar is certainly a deserving recipient of the Excellence Award.
