Professor Lee Hin Peng is unrivalled in his contributions to public health in Singapore: as a researcher, educator, and leader.
As a researcher, Professor Lee's groundbreaking work on cancer in Singapore has garnered international recognition and contributed enormously to Singapore's biomedical science initiative.
As an educator, Professor Lee tirelessly championed the public health training of undergraduates and specialists. It was his vision twenty years ago, that culminated in the recent opening of the Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health.
As a leader, Professor Lee has been instrumental in guiding Singapore through pertinent issues such as cancer control, bioethics, and care for the elderly. His widely recognized expertise on cancer prevention has been drawn upon by the Ministry of Health and other international organizations, such as the WHO.
Professor Lee Hin Peng is a great example that you can do good and be good: as a doctor, teacher, mentor, and friend. He is a great inspiration to us.
